Crowe Horwath Trinavis and its predecessors have been based in Berlin for 50 years. We feel connected to our city and are especially committed to developing higher eduction. We want to provide the students an opportunity to obtain practical first-hand knowledge and to establish first contacts for access to the profession and career.
Association for the Promotion of Accounting and Tax Law [Verein zur Förderung des Bilanz- und Steuerrechts sowie der Wirtschaftsprüfung Berlin und Brandenburg e. V.]
Since 2014, our Partner Dr Jan Merzrath (Lawyer, Tax Consultant, Specialised Tax Lawyer) has been a member of the board of trustees which is dedicated to the conceptual work of the association. Furthermore, he acts as lecturer or moderator during events of the association. The association promotes and science and higher eduction in the fields of accounting and tax law and audit in the federal states Berlin and Brandenburg. It also supports training and research of the law and economy faculties of the universities in the fields referred to above.

At the University of Potsdam we are actively involved in the Faculty Chair of Accounting and Auditing in the private and public sector of Professor Dr Ulfert Gronewold. In the Business Taxation Department our Partner Dr Jan Merzrath (Lawyer, Tax Consultant, Specialised Tax Lawyer) is a contract lecturer for Decision-Oriented Taxation.

With our funding of the specialist literature data base for the students, we support the Chair of Business Taxation Professor Dr Hundsdoerfer in the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation at Freie Universität Berlin ("Free University of Berlin").
Freie Universität is one of the top scientific institutions and was one of the German universities to win in the German Universities Excellence Initiative in 2007. As a full-scale university, it offers more than 150 degree courses in 15 departments and central institutes in all groups of academic subjects. Currently, about 29,000 students are enrolled at Freie Universität Berlin.
