We provide our clients with advice in all questions of international tax law. Our services are centered around the tax optimization of investment strategies for foreign investors acquiring German real estate.

For an investment to be successful a certain general framework is decisive in addition to the location of the property, for example the acquisition price for the property, an adequate financing, to mention just a few. As early as in the preliminary stages of the investment a tax consultant should be involved, who is familiar with the local situation and can establish contacts with property managers, banks and law offices. Together with the tax consultant the most appropriate investment strategy from a taxation perspective should be defined.

Basically, there are two important aspects:

  • How can the tax burden in Germany be reduced especially by avoiding trade tax an by optimizing real estate transfer tax?
  • How can the income be transferred to the target state of the investor without additional taxation?

The support we provide to our clients, independent of their industry, also aims at avoiding double taxation in Germany and in the foreign state of residence of the investor (= inbound cases) or of a subsidiary business (= outbound cases). This also includes avoiding or reducing withholding tax.
